Our story

OSEYAD (Okumayı Sevdirme ve Yaygınlaştırma Derneği) is an Istanbul-based nonprofit association dedicated to fostering a lifelong love of reading.  We are supported by a community of families, volunteers, authors, illustrators, publishers, donors, and others who believe in the value of raising readers. The Little Library That Could, our children’s reading room and book club, brings this mission to life.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a lifelong love of reading and contribute to the long-term development of our community by creating opportunities children and young people to read, discover, create, connect, and explore.

We believe reading broadens perspectives, helps us understand experiences beyond our own, and builds meaningful connections across languages, cultures, backgrounds, and generations.
