## Our Reading Room Rules- The Little Library That Could

Our reading room is a shared space for children and families. These simple rules help us keep it welcoming, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

1\. Stay Together

Children under 18 must remain with a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult throughout their visit. We do not provide childcare.

2\. Be Kind & Respectful

Treat other children, families, volunteers, and our team with kindness and respect. Use respectful language, respect personal space, and be considerate of others.

3\. Bags Away, Shoes Off, No Food or Drinks

Please leave bags and personal belongings in the lockers provided. Remove shoes before entering the reading room or use the shoe covers provided.  Please do not enter with any food or drinks.

4\. Take Care of Our Books

Handle books and materials with care. Help children learn that looking after shared books is part of being a responsible reader.

5\. Let Us Reshelve

Please do not put books back on the shelves. Leave books for our team to reshelve so we can make sure they return to the right place.

6\. Tidy Before You Leave

Help children tidy the space and return toys, activities, and materials to their proper places before leaving.

7\. Respect Your Appointment Time

Please arrive and leave on time. Arriving late does not extend your appointment.

8\. Cancel Early & Keep Us Informed

If you cannot attend, please cancel as early as possible so another family can use the appointment. If you are running late or something changes, please let us know.

Repeated late cancellations, no-shows, or significant lateness may result in temporary restrictions on booking privileges.

9\. Be Responsible for Borrowed Books

Book Club Members are responsible for keeping track of borrowed books, caring for them, and returning them on time. Book renewals are not automatic and are subject to good standing, availability, and approval by the OSEYAD team.

10\. Communication is Important

Questions, accidents, late books, and unexpected situations happen. Please talk to us.

We want children to learn that being part of a reading community means communicating, respecting others, caring for shared resources, and taking responsibility.
