Okumayı Sevdirme ve Yaygınlaştırma Derneği (“OSEYAD”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

OSEYAD processes personal data in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) and other applicable Turkish laws and regulations.

Depending on how you interact with OSEYAD, we may collect information such as:

• information you provide when booking a reading room visit;
• information provided in connection with The Little Library That Could program membership;
• information relating to participating children and family members;
• information concerning book borrowing and returns;
• registrations for programs, activities, events, or group visits;
• volunteer and book-donation inquiries;
• communications you send to us; and
• technical information collected when you use our website, including information collected through cookies where applicable.

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

Why We Use Your Information

We may process personal data to:

• arrange and administer reading room visits and appointments;
• administer The Little Library That Could program and program memberships;
• manage book borrowing and related services;
• organize programs, activities, events, and group visits;
• respond to inquiries and communicate with families and participants;
• manage volunteer applications and book donations;
• operate and improve our website and services;
• maintain the safety and effective operation of our activities; and
• comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

How We Collect and Process Personal Data

Personal data may be collected directly from you through our website, booking system, forms, email and other communications, as well as during your participation in OSEYAD programs and activities.

Personal data is processed only where an appropriate legal basis exists under the KVKK, including where processing is necessary to establish or perform a contractual relationship, comply with a legal obligation, establish, exercise or protect a right, pursue a legitimate interest where permitted by law, or where you have provided explicit consent when such consent is required.

Sharing and Transfer of Personal Data

Where necessary for the purposes described above, personal data may be shared with authorized OSEYAD team members, volunteers where appropriate, service providers that support our operations, and public authorities or other parties where required by law.

We use third-party technology and service providers to operate certain aspects of our website, appointments, communications, and program services.  Where personal data is transferred outside Türkiye, OSEYAD will do so in accordance with the requirements applicable to international data transfers under the KVKK.

Your Rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to obtain information about whether and how your personal data is processed and, where applicable, to request correction, deletion or destruction of your personal data and to exercise your other rights provided by law.
